Czech Scientists Present a Battery for Storing Large Amounts of Energy

Praha 16. března (PROTEXT)

On March 24, 2015, at a conference on Czech nanotechnology in the Lichtenstein Palace in Prague, Dr. Jana Procházka’s team of scientists presented a battery that by ambitious predictions could in the next few years solve the problem of storing large amounts of electricity from renewable sources.

A conference sponsored by the newly-formed Association of the Nanotechnology Industry of the Czech Republic, on the occasion of the opening of the popularizing and educational project “Czech Republic is Nano,” reviewed the greatest successes of domestic researchers in the field of nanotechnology and updated on trends in further development.

“Czech firms are already able to create artificial body tissues and organs, remove toxic materials from polluted air and water and do many more remarkable things.  The Czech Republic is at the forefront of world development of nano-fibers and nano-textiles.

I am very glad that Czech producers of nanotechnological products are joining synergistically to create joint projects.  A recent example is the world project for hypoallergenic hotel rooms combining domestic nanotechnologies.  By the manufacture of smart materials with high added value we are contributing to the increased competitiveness of our economy,” says the Chairman of the Association, Ing. Jiří Kůs.
